This week's Lake Travis fishing report
Thin recent reports point to the November shad migration pattern
Week of seasonal outlook with this week's weather
Current reports for Travis are basically non-existent right now. The last solid updates we had were from the spring, when tournament anglers were bringing in massive 26-pound bags in May and guys were catching pre-spawn fish on keel-weighted swimbaits in the shallow brush back in February. Since we do not have fresh water temperatures or clarity readings for this week, we have to rely on the typical November patterns for the lake.\n\nRight now, the bass should be focused heavily on the fall shad migration. Threadfin and gizzard shad push into the creeks and coves this time of year, and the bass follow them to fatten up before winter sets in. You will want to look for bait activity in the backs of these pockets.\n\nFor this weekend, tie on a spinnerbait, a squarebill crankbait, or a topwater walker and cover water in the creeks. Keep moving until you find the shad, and the bass should be right there with them.
