Toledo Bend Reservoir fishing report Ā· week of
Bass push into creeks and grass points for the fall feed
Built from 4 public reports Ā· updated
Fresh reports have been pretty thin over the last month, with our most recent solid updates coming from late September. At that time, cooling temperatures were already pushing feeding bass out of their summer haunts and into the major creek arms. Now that we are into early November, that fall transition is fully underway across the reservoir.
Based on the typical November pattern for Toledo Bend, the shad migration dictates bass positioning. You will find fish moving further back into the creeks and setting up on grass points to ambush bait. The late September reports noted active schooling behavior, and that usually intensifies this time of year as they feed heavily on threadfin and gizzard shad before winter sets in. Drains and creek channel bends that were starting to hold fish a few months ago should now be primary travel corridors.
For this weekend, focus your search on those creek channels and main grass points where bait is present. Tie on a crankbait or a spinnerbait to cover water efficiently and locate active schools.
