Cooling water pushes bass and stripers toward fall shad schools

We do not have any fresh reports from the water this week, so you will need to rely on the typical November transition on Lake Havasu. As the water cools this time of year, both largemouth and smallmouth bass, along with stripers, usually move up to intercept threadfin and gizzard shad schools.
The standard fall pattern means focusing your efforts on rocky points and the main river channel edges. You will want to keep a close eye out for surface activity, as stripers and bass often push bait to the top during the cooler parts of the day. If they are not showing themselves on the surface, covering water with moving baits is the standard approach to locate active fish.
For this weekend, keep a topwater walking bait tied on for early mornings or any schooling action you happen to see. When the sun gets up and the topwater bite fades, switch to a crankbait and work the chunk rock points and channel swings to find actively feeding fish.
